The historic National Transit Building was built in 1890 and the adjacent annex building in 1896 and was a hub of John D.Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company The first in the nation with offices for companies specializing in transportation of oil through pipelines. Horace B Robinson of Oil City was the builder and etched his initials in a window on the second floor with his diamond ring.
